Dear BTD-participants, sponsors and enthusiasts,
After a successful 71th edition in 2023, we are already busy with the preparations in order to make the event of 2024 just as incredible. An event with much nostalgic value, because how many events last this long?
What is the sea side visitors tournament?
What has started in the past as a sea side visitors tournament has grown into a national and even international top tournament. Since 1992 it has been back in the ‘old style’. Since that time, Dutch level 2 and 3 players have participated, but also players from the German Bundesliga 30+ have attended. However, the tournament has gone back to its core: A tournament for and sometimes also by sea side visitors, with the addition of local and regional (top) players! Participants range from people who have never held a racket before to more skilled players. A welcoming and relaxed atmosphere is one of the key characteristics of this event and top tennis can be a very nice result of that. Because not only sea side visitors participate, but also people who have never played tennis and who are also not a member of a tennis club, this will be a tournament without rating but with the possibility to play against international players.
Everyone will be divided into one schedule. Should you play against a better player in the first round, then there is no need to worry: You will then play a second game in the losers’ round. This means you will always play a minimum of two games.
Are you convinced that you meet the ‘condition’ to come and play some casual games of tennis in a nice and social atmosphere? Are you looking forward to playing a minimum of two games? Last year it was incredibly busy and fun, which is why this year too, full=full. So be there on time. From 13 April you can register via this link and make sure you are there.
